It has been reported that 20% of Wrangler sales are for the brand new mild hybrid so it is no surprise that FCA (Fiat Chrysler) plans to bring a full plug-in version to market in the summer of 2020.

Mazda will take its second best selling vehicle, the MX-30 and make it available as a short range (125 Mile/200 Kilometer which is half the standard in 2020) full EV by the end of summer 2020 as a 2021 model. They will then follow up with a mild hybrid and Plug In version of the same vehicle in the 2022 model year (summer 2021).

This Crosstrek only allows 27 kilometers of all electric range before the gas engine kicks in. That is enough to get most people to work but not home, so if you can’t charge at work you likely will be driving with some gasoline each day. The reason this car did not make the top 10 is because it is already for sale in some US markets and will hit Canada this spring.

VW has been showing the ID Space Vizzion concept for some time now but it is expected to go to market in 2022 as an all electric pure EV with an 82 KW skateboard battery and 205 kW rear electric motor standard. There will most likely be a front motor, making it all-wheel-drive option, but that has not been confirmed yet
